New photography exhibition Humans at Sea
From 7 October 2022 until 2 July 2023, the National Maritime Museum and Dutch National Portrait Gallery present Humans at Sea, a photography exhibition about the broad, divergent maritime world in which amazing, stimulating and moving portraits and stories show how a life at sea can change people.
In Jakarta: exhibition I love Banda at Erasmus Huis
On 23 March, Erasmus Huis in Jakarta will open the exhibition I love Banda in collaboration with photographer Isabelle Boon and the National Maritime Museum. The exhibition was shown at the National Maritime Museum in 2021 and now has its premiere in Indonesia. The exhibition is on display at Erasmus Huis until 17 June, 2022.

Het Scheepvaartmuseum in Amsterdam will be launching the spectacular Virtual Reality (VR) trip through time entitled ‘dare to discover | a VR journey’ on 14 December 2017. The VR experience on board the East Indiaman Amsterdam transports museum visitors back to the Dutch Golden Age. This exciting journey includes a flight over the historic harbour of Amsterdam, and visitors can also experience the rapid development of the area into a busy port.

The state yacht 'Statenjacht de Utrecht’ is a reconstruction of an 18th-century admiralty yacht, built according to traditional methods between 1997 and 2003 on the basis of original drawings dating from 1746.
