From March 11, 2024, the VOC ship will be out of operation for a few weeks due to maintenance on the bowsprit. Unfortunately, the ship will not be accessible to museum guests during these weeks.
During the recent maintenance in 2023 on the bow of the replica, conducted at the museum pier, wood pressure measurements were carried out. These measurements indicate that the bowsprit is in poor condition and therefore will be repaired at Damen Shiprepair Oranjewerf. The work is expected to be completed within two weeks. We aim to have the ship back at our pier and open for the public by March 21, 2024.
