Below you can read the general terms and conditions for ordering photos.
To request photographs you must fill in the order form. You must indicate the inventory number with your order. This number can be found on the website of Maritiem Digitaal.
Images of objects or ship plans remain the property of The National Maritime Museum, Het Scheepvaartmuseum and may not be used for any purpose other than that stated at the time of request without the express permission of the museum.
The publication of images is only possible with the permission of Het Scheepvaartmuseum and if credit is given as follows: 'Het Scheepvaartmuseum, the National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam'. You must pay for the right of use of the image. Right of use is not the same as copyright. You yourself are responsible for complying with copyright.
The National Maritime Museum has made every effort to find the copyright holders of images from other collections and to request their permission for publication. If, however, you believe that a copyright holder is incorrectly or incompletely cited, please get in touch with us.
When using images for publication, you are required to send a documentation copy to:
